Flowing Dharma, Inc. is a community-focused non-profit, 501(c)3 organization that is guided by a board of directors. Our commitment is to serve the Dharma while cultivating lovingkindness, compassion and generosity.
Flowing Dharma brings qualified meditation teachers from across the country into the Tampa Bay area to share their energy and understanding of the Dharma with our community in residential and non-residential retreats from one to ten days in length. schedule
We also provide a lovely space at the Lotus Room Yoga Studio for local sanghas and meditation groups to hold weekly group sittings, Dharma-related meetings and non-residential meditation retreats. schedule
You can receive monthly information about Flowing Dharma events and other meditation happenings in the Tampa Bay area by joining our Newsletter Group.
Organizational Goals (and where we are now):
• to share the Dharma through on-going classes and residential and nonresidential retreats. (Working to establish adequate funds to allow all residential retreats to be on a "dana only" basis, allowing anyone regardless of financial situation to attend.)
• support local area sanghas. (Providing the Community Meeting Room on a dana basis to area Buddhist groups.)
• foster the development of local sitting groups. If you are interested in starting a sitting group in your area, we offer the following support:
- use our e-mailing list to contact likely participants for you.
- teach a one-day retreat in your area to bring the group together in a meditative space.
- maintain contact and provide on-going support with a leader from the group.
- If you are interested in having this support, drop a note to Steve Shealy or call him at 813-989-9910.
• support and encourage community outreach. (Providing meeting space and financial support for Buddhist Peace Fellowship of Tampa Bay and it's activities, sitting prison retreats.)
• establish an urban meditation retreat center in the Tampa Bay area. (Currently searching for land and investors for an Intentional Ego-Friendly Healing Community.)
Your support of Flowing Dharma is very much appreciated.
Your financial support of the scholarship fund allows those without financial means to attend residential retreats.
Your attendance and support of events, retreats and activities allow these to be available to our community in the future.
